Scored in successive FA Cup finals, 1955 & 1956, the latter a 3-1 victory Vs Birmingham City.

I was a very young player when I first met Bobby and not a first team player. Then he was sold to Man City but when he returned to Hibs it was my pleasure to be able to be on the same field as him
What a nice man. I never ever met anyone who knew
football that didn't admire him and his abilities.

Misc/trivia :- Also played cricket for Saddleworth. He continued to attend matches at both Boundary Park and Maine Road, and was a very popular member of City's Former Players' Association. Today an impressive painting of Johnstone is positioned in the Directors' Guest Lounge at City's stadium.
