Doug joined the 'Bees' in 1937. Made 1 FL appearance in 1938/39 ; - scoring an own goal Vs Blackpool in a 1-1 draw. Made the odd appearance during the War, after which he married the daughter of a Blackburn Rovers director and set up as a publican near Ewood Park.
