John Aitken served as a Lance-Corporal in the Gordon Highlanders and was killed in action at Ypres on 13 July 1917. He is buried at Vlamertinghe New Military Cemetery in Belgium.

John Aitken was my mothers father, she was Edwina Lamont from Perth in Scotland Her mother was Christine . My Mother was Johns only child,
