In the mid-1890s rightly described as "a brilliant exponent". At the time he was at the peak of his powers, excellent in team play, a maker and taker of scoring opportunities.

Awarded a benefit match in September 1901.

Capped Vs Ireland in 1896 & Wales in 1897.

Paddy Murray was related to John and James Quigley who played at the same time also from Campsie.
