Hibs were minus Pat Stanton and Jim Black - flu and a hip injury respectively. Alex Edwards returned following his two months ban, and had a brilliant game. Alan Gordon, in an unfamiliar half-back role, had the misfortune to put through his own goal for the Kilmarnock score.

Hazel replaced Baker.

Referee :- I.M.D. Foote, Glasgow.
