Peter Cormack made his first appearance since rejoining the club on a two-year contract as a player-coach. Despite a man-of-the-match performance from keeper Jim McArthur, Hibs lost to a 40th minute goal from Willie Pettigrew.

Referee :- I.M.D. Foote, Glasgow.
