Dan Doyle, aka "Ned", was among the greatest full-backs of his time. A big man, weighing over 13st, he had perfect judgement, which atoned for his lack of speed. At Everton (1889-91) he won the League in 1891 ; at Celtic (1891-99) he won four titles - 1893,1894,1896 & 1898 - along with the Scottish Cup in 1892.
