Morton, James

James Morton was a centre-forward who, after a brief spell with Hibs, travelled south to play for Bradford City, Stoke City and Tottenham Hotspur. Returned to Scotland to play for St Bernards, before signing for Barnsley on 29/08/1913. His last club was Bristol City, whom he joined on 10/04/1914.

'The death occurred at his residence, 2 Murano Place, Edinburgh, yesterday, after a long illness, of James Morton ..........

When his playing days were over he went to Nuneaton, near Birmingham, as a trainer.'
